Camp Myth is a summer camp built to teach young mythological creatures about the cultures and dangers of their amazing world. Minotaurs, Dryads, Merfolk, Centaurs – you name it! For six weeks, these children live and work together in order to earn merit badges and prove their worth to the mythic community. 

 

But for Felix, a mischievous Fae with a knack for getting into trouble, camp means nothing more than a chance to break free from his overprotective parents and enjoy a few weeks without responsibilities. That is, until a series of accidents turn camp life upside-down, and some of the other campers start disappearing from the grounds. 

 

Together with his cabin-mates, Argee – the world's only nerdy Cyclops – and Moxie – an orphaned Kitsune unable to control her shape-shifting powers, Felix will meet learn about mythological creatures, what it really means to grow up, and how friendship can transcend race and culture.

Current donation total as of May 31/12 is $2,398 (18 more days to reach the goal of $4,000).

Matty Amendola was in "LA LA Land" working for the Rock and Roll Fantasy Camp, as one of their "Rock Star Experts." Besides jamming, and helping out the campers, Matty also hosted the camp's featured drum master-class (originally started and incorporated into the camp by Billy Amendola), bringing friends such as: Steve Fisher (Roland Drums), Rich Redmond (Jason Aldean), Brian Tichy (Billy Idol, Foreigner), Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath), Ryan MacMillan (Matchbox 20), Veronica Bellino (Jeff Beck) and many other great West Coast players. Matty also mentioned that his week was filled with songwriting, demoing new songs on his iPad in the hotel room, and in the studio working with singer/songwriter Kenli Mattus, for the first time since their band, The Classic Futures, disbanded several years ago. Seattle Theatre Group (STG), a not-for-profit organization, presents "Life Is A Carnival, Celebrating the Music of Levon Helm" on Sunday, June 17, 2012, at the Triple Door in Seattle.

Seattle musicians band together on Father's Day to pay homage to musician, songwriter, producer, actor and guiding spirit Mr. Levon Helm, who recently passed away from his long struggle with throat cancer. Ian Moore, Jeff Fielder, Lindsay Fuller, Jason Dodson, Choklate, Duff McKagan, Zoe Muth, Jason Staczek, Eric Eagle, Michael Stegner, Andy Stoller, Garth Reeves, Shawn Divine, Kasey Anderson and the Honkies plus more local favorites will celebrate Helm's life and musical career spanning 55 years.

TIM "TOO SLIM" LANGFORD TO RELEASE SOLO ACOUSTIC BROKEN HALO CD

Hot on the heels of his Blues Music Awards-nominated Shiver CD by his band, Too Slim and the Taildraggers, frontman Tim "Too Slim" Langford will officially release the digital version of his second solo acoustic CD, entitled Broken Halo, on June 19, 2012.  His first solo acoustic recording was Pint Store Blues.

UK GUITARIST CHRIS ADAMS - NEVIS RADIO/DYNAMIK RECORDS/NEW WEBSITE

I have had a busy April and May and firstly want to thank Nevis Radio for the opportunity to play at their Band Aid gig in Fort William, Scotland, where I'm currently residing.  It was a good gig and good things have come of it.

Since then I have some good things developing for the local area, one of which is a play bus scheme.  We are going to fit an ex-BBC courtesy bus with a recording studio and go out into the local community to offer music production training to people in the Fort William area.  The scheme has been well received by local decision-makers and is well on the way.

Now that Tree Records and I have gone our separate ways, I have been signed by a new label called DyNaMik Records, which is based in Southern Ireland.  DyNaMik has now created a new website for me (see the link below), with some top-notch publicity.  I am looking forward to working with DyNaMik and producing material for a new album in the near future.

As well, I have sent a 5-track EP to distributors.  The tracks are what I did with Tree Records' Javier Ballester on the Vladimir Vysotsky project.  The EP will arrive in stores in a couple of weeks.  Details and the tracks can be heard here:

I have formed a band from musicians in my local area, and the live performance situation, including tentative bookings at some really cool festivals, is now on my agenda.  Rehearsals are starting very soon, now that I am back from the family holiday in Corfu.  Perhaps we will soon be visiting a town near you...we are up for requests.
